EVP and General Counsel, Sony Corporation of America
Mark Khalil was named Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Sony Corporation of America (SCA) in June 2012. In that role, he oversees the SCA Legal Department, providing legal support to SCA and various corporate and business units. He also serves as Corporate Secretary of SCA.
Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Khalil served as Senior Vice President of Legal at SCA and, before that, Vice President and Group Counsel at Sony Electronics (SEL) in San Jose, California. He joined the Company in 1989 as an attorney at SEL in Park Ridge, NJ.
Since 2009, he has also served on the Board and, since 2011, as President of the Sony USA Foundation, which oversees SCA’s philanthropic efforts.
Mr. Khalil began his career at the Philadelphia law firm of Schnader, Harrison, Segal and Lewis. He earned his B.S. in Marketing at the University of South Carolina in 1978 and his law degree from Rutgers University School of Law in 1985.
