PlayStation® Home

Playstation Home has a ton of news coming out of CES. What is Home, you ask? Home is a 3D social gaming community that allows PS3 users to meet, chat, plan, and launch into games together. You can create your own custom avatar (including special gear if you order through Amazon), decorate your personal apartment, play mini-games, shop, watch videos, attend special events, and more. Right now, Home is in open beta, and it's free!

The big news is the announcement of the new EA Home space. EA and Sony have been hard at work to create a space that both casual and hardcore gamers will enjoy, allowing Home users to play exclusive new EA Sports multiplayer games, meet EA Sports fans, check leaderboards, and watch EA Sports trailers.

Home also announced that Red Bull Island will be a new space. You'll be able to explore the island and take part in a variety of Red Bull events, including getting inside the cockpit of a Red Bull Air Race plane and competing against other flyers on the Red Bull Air Race course. This is just the start - more to come in the next few months.

Want to become ISA Soldier or a Helghast Assault Trooper in Home? You can if you pre-order Killzone 2 from Amazon, you’ll get an exclusive PlayStation Home costume for your Home avatar. With costume pieces for your head, torso, legs, hands and feet, you can customize your Home avatar to look like an ISA Soldier, a Helghast Assault Trooper, or mix and match it with your usual Home style.

There's more on the style front: Ligne Roset and Diesel will now have their own storefronts in the PlayStation Home Mall. And if you watched the sneak peak of Resident Evil: Degeneration over the holiday break, you'll be able to get a themed T-shirts for your avatar as well!
