Anthony Hamilton is Cool
4:57pm, January 10th

Anthony Hamilton brought the Sony Theater to a standing ovation this afternoon, playing a spectacular set of songs from his new album, The Point of it All. With his band in full swing behind him, Hamilton charmed the crowd and showed his vocal prowess, singing "Cool," "The Point of it All" and "Charlene" among others.
We got to ask him a few questions after the show.
Q: What do you think of the Sony Theater?
A: When we agreed to do this show, I thought, "OK, Sony, it probably will sound pretty good. And when I came in last night, I was like, jeeez - i've never heard sound so good. It was almost so good that I wasn't used to it. It's so good that it's wrong! Today it was amazing - I could hear everything, almost like surround sound. It smells good too...
Q: Have you gotten to look around at all?
A: We got to look around a little last night... I like the cameras. I'm a big camera dude and I love taking pictures, so I want to check out the cameras and see what they have... I'm going to have to get a Sony.

Q: How do you see technology affecting your work?
A: Technology - everything from computers to cameras, camcorders affect me, because people have access to you, whether you know it our not. It can benefit or it can hurt you, but you can't really worry about it. I don't want gray hair about that. I'd rather worry if the dog has run away or something.
Q: What are you looking forward to in the new year?
A: I have a label called Mister's Music, where Mr. Ashes Clay will be an artist. Tarsha McMillian Hamilton will be working on a new project... a lot of talent, and we want to give the people something creatively different.
