How to disable the DHCP BROADCAST flag.

WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. This procedure involves editing the Registry. Using the Registry editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require the operating system to be reinstalled and can result in the potential loss of data.

  1. Click the Start button and then in the Start Search box type: regedit

    NOTE: If prompted for an administrator password or a User Account Control prompt is displayed, type the appropriate password or click Continue.

  2. In the Registry Editor window, navigate to the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\{GUID}
  3. Click to select the subkey that corresponds to the wireless network adapter being used.

    NOTE: A procedure is available to identify the GUID .

  4. On menu bar, click Edit, point to New and then click DWORD (32-bit) Value.
  5. In the New Value #1 textbox, type DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle and then press the Enter key.
  6. Right-click DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle and then click Modify.
  7. In the Value data textbox, type 1 and then click the OK button.
  8. Close the Registry Editor window.
