The camera displays an error message when trying to record a movie even though the capacity on the memory card is not full.

Even if there is still available recording space on the memory card media, the camera may display one of the errors below when trying to record in the Movie mode if the memory card media was previously formatted by a computer .

  • Error: NO MEMORY SPACE ON THE MEMORY STICK
  • Error: NOT ENOUGH SPACE ON MEMORY STICK

To resolve this issue, first copy all the recorded movies and pictures to a computer and then format the memory card media in the camera. If the issue continues, try using a different memory card.

IMPORTANT: If model-specific information is required about how to format the Memory Stick media, refer to the operating instructions of the camera. Manuals are posted on your model support page.

NOTE: The camera may still shoot pictures and not display either error message when it is set to the Still Image mode.

If the issue is still unresolved, service may be required.
