IMPORTANT: If model-specific information is required to complete any of the steps in this solution, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the product. Manuals are posted on your model support page.

  1. Plug the network audio adapter directly into the router.
  2. Verify the WIRELESS/WIRED switch on the network audio adapter is set to WIRED.
  3. Change the function on your Audio/Video (A/V) receiver to DMPORT.
  4. Verify the network audio adapter is obtaining a proper ID address from the router by doing these steps:
    1. On the remote control, press the MENU button.
    2. Press the left or right arrow repeatedly until SETUP BY PC? appears.
    3. Press the ENTER button and the IP address appears in the display.

NOTE: The IP address should have a 192.168.x.x or 10.1.x.x address. If the IP address is a 169.254.x.x address, it is still not obtaining a proper ID address and you will need to do the following:

      • Check the LAN cable.
      • Verify the router is being powered.
      • Make sure the network audio adapter is in the WIRED mode.
  5. Verify you have the latest 2.5.1 version of the M-Crew Server® software installed. Downloads are posted on your model support page.
  6. Once you have completed the install, the computer should automatically restart.

NOTE: The M-Crew ICF pop-up window should appear once the computer has rebooted.

  7. From the ICF pop-up window, press ENABLED and verify that all ENABLED settings are green.
  8. Complete the M-Crew Server setup.
  9. Now verify that you have the latest 2.50A firmware update installed for the network audio adapter.
  10. After downloading the latest firmware update, extract the zipped contents of the latest firmware by following these steps:
    1. Using the remote control, press the MENU button.
    2. Press the left or right arrow repeatedly until SETUP BY PC? appears.
    3. Press the ENTER button.
    4. Write down the IP address that displays.
    5. Open an Internet Explorer® application.
    6. Type the IP address in the address bar of the Internet Explorer window.
    7. Once the username and password screen appears, type root in the username box and leave the password box blank.
    8. Select ENGLISH.
    9. Select FIRMWARE UPDATE.

NOTE: If the firmware version is 2.0, continue downloading the firmware update.

  11. Once the firmware update process is complete, reconfigure the network audio adapter by doing the following:
    1. Using the remote control, press the MENU button.
    2. Press the left or right arrow repeatedly until RESTART appears.

NOTE: Configuring should now be displayed on the screen. If successful, the unit should find and display the M-Crew Server version.

    3. Press ENTER once the M-Crew Server version displays.
  12. Now, set up the network audio adapter for wireless transmission by doing these steps:
    1. Using the remote control, press the MENU button.
    2. Press the left or right arrow repeatedly until SETUP BY PC? appears.
    3. In another window, start up Internet Explorer.
    4. Enter the IP address in the address bar of Internet Explorer.
    5. Enter root for the username and leave the password blank.
    6. Select WIRELESS LAN SETUP in the menu.
    7. Enter the SSID, Security mode and wireless network key (or router encryption key), then click Setup.
    8. Click Restart Audio Client in the menu.
    9. Click Restart.
    10. Unplug the LAN cable.
    11. Set the WIRELESS/WIRED selector to WIRELESS.

NOTE: The unit should automatically connect to the M-Crew Server.

If NO SERVER is still displayed after completing the above steps, verify whether you have any third-party security programs installed. If you do, you will need to disable the firewall and then go back and complete the steps listed above once more.
