Error: An error occurred during software update. The update could not be completed.

The following procedure is done in cases when an error appears that indicates that the download failed while attempting a software update via network connection on televisions with built-in BRAVIA® Internet Video (BIV) feature. Follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Ensure that the BRAVIA television is connected to an active network.
  2. Ensure that the Internet connection speed is at least 2.5 mbps.
  3. Re-attempt the software update.

    NOTE: Continue to step four if the software update continues to fail after following these steps.

  4. Turn off the TV.
  5. Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet, and allow the TV to remain unplugged for 1 minute.
  6. Re-connect the power cord and turn on the TV.
  7. Re-attempt the software update.

    NOTE: Continue to step eight if the software update continues to fail after following these steps.

  8. Reset the television to the original factory settings .

    NOTE: This step may need to be followed 3 times in order to fully reset the TV.

  9. Re-attempt the software update.
