A dark shadow appears on the LCD screen while shooting a still image.

This symptom may occur depending on changes of aperture or exposure values, such as when the brightness of the subject changes, or when the shutter button is pressed halfway down or released.

In Live View mode, carefully check the image displayed on the LCD monitor before shooting. In such cases, the expected result may not be obtained. Please confirm a change of the brightness of the subject or the shooting environment when shooting a still image. NOTE: For Alpha DSLR cameras, this does not affect the Optical View Finder (OVF) since it has a reflex mirror that bounces the light to the OVF to view and frame the subject. Unlike the Live View mode on an LCD screen in which the light is directly hitting the imaging sensor of the camera and displays it onto the LCD screen.
