What are the sound characteristics and audio formats from each output jack?

The following are the supported sound characteristics (number of channels and sampling frequency) and audio formats from each output jack for the player:

HDMI®:

  • LPCM (up to 7.1 ch)

    NOTE: LPCM 7.1 ch is only for 96/48 kHz

  • Dolby® Digital (up to 5.1 ch)
  • Dolby Digital Plus (up to 7.1 ch)
  • Dolby TrueHD (up to 7.1 ch)
  • DTS™ ES Matrix (up to 6.1 ch)
  • DTS ES Discrete (up to 6.1 ch)
  • DTS ES 8 ch Discrete (up to 7.1 ch)
  • DTS 96/24 (up to 5.1 ch)
  • DTS 96/24 ES Matrix (up to 6.1 ch)
  • DTS (up to 5.1 ch)
  • DTS-HD High Resolution Audio (up to 7.1 ch)
  • DTS-HD Master Audio (up to 7.1 ch)
  • MPEG2 AAC(ARIB) (up to 5.1 ch)*

Digital Output:

  • LPCM (up to 2 ch)
  • Dolby Digital (up to 5.1 ch)
  • DTS (up to 5.1 ch)

Analog:

  • 2 ch*
