How to play music through the Network speaker with a Windows operating system.

NOTE: You can playback audio content from a DLNA® compliant server by using the Network Audio Remote application (app).

Using a computer with the Windows® 7 operating system (OS):

  1. Using the computer, click Start.
  2. Select Control Panel.
  3. Select View network status and tasks.
  4. Select Public Network.

    NOTE: If Public Network does not appear on the screen, continue to step 7.

  5. Select either Home Network or Work Network as appropriate.
  6. Follow the instructions that will appear.
  7. Once completed, either Home Network or Work Network will appear under View your active networks.
  8. Select Change Advance Sharing Settings.
  9. Select Choose Media Streaming Options.
  10. Make sure that Media Streaming is on.

    NOTE: If it is not turned on, Turn On Media Streaming will be available.

  11. Select Allow All.
  12. Select OK.
  13. Select Allow all computers and media devices.
  14. Select OK.
  15. From the programs menu of the computer, select the Windows Media Player.
  16. Turn on media streaming.
  17. Select the desired music file or song.
  18. Right-click the mouse and select Play To.
  19. Select the Network speaker.

Using a computer with the Windows® XP OS or the Windows Vista® OS:

  1. Using the computer, click Start.
  2. Select All Programs.
  3. Select Windows Media Player.
  4. Select Library.

    NOTE: If using a computer with the Windows XP OS, skip to step 11.

  5. Select Media Sharing.
  6. Select Networking.
  7. Select Customize.
  8. Make sure there is a check mark next to Private.
  9. Select Next.
  10. Make sure that Private appears next to Location Type.
  11. Select Close.
  12. Make sure that Private Network is displayed and close the window.
  13. Make sure that Share my Media has a check.
  14. Select OK.
  15. Select the Settings option next to Share my media to:.
  16. Make sure that Allow new devices and computers automatically has a check.
  17. Select OK.

NOTE: You can also listen to audio using a Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA)  controller.
