Follow the steps below to troubleshoot this issue.
- Make sure the USB cable is secure to both the hard drive and other device.
IMPORTANT: Do not use a USB hub. The use of a USB hub is not supported.
- Make sure the device supports the use of an external hard drive.
NOTE: Not all devices with a USB port support connecting an external hard drive.
- Try connecting to a different USB port on the device (if available).
- Try using a different USB cable.
