If the hard drive is not being detected when connected to a compatible camera or camcorder, check the following:
NOTE: Not all cameras and camcorders with a USB connection support the use of a hard drive. Refer to the manual supplied with the camera or camcorder for additional information.
- Make sure the LED indicator of the hard drive is on. This is an indication that the hard drive is being powered by the camera or camcorder and it is on .
- Make sure that the supplied USB cable is being used.
- Make sure that the camera or camcorder being used is a supported device.
If the hard drive is still not recognized when connected to a camera or camcorder after verifying the things mentioned above, initialize the hard drive using the camera or camcorder. If the camera or camcorder does not have the ability to initialize the hard drive, use a computer to initialize the hard drive or camcorder. Refer to the manual supplied with the camera or camcorder for the required specifications.
NOTE: Initializing the hard drive will delete any previously recorded data using a format supported by the camera.
