The tablet can recognize SD and SDHC memory cards (Class 4 or higher) up to 32GB in size. External USB Hard Disk up to 2TB (Terabytes) have been tested and will be recognized, as long as the drive is formatted in the FAT32 file system. Similarly, flash drives of any size will be recognized as long as they are formatted in the FAT32 file system.
IMPORTANT: Because of the increased power requirements, it is recommended that any connected external USB Hard Disk have it's own power supply.
NOTE: If an SD Card, flash drive or external USB Hard Disk is not recognized, look for a USB symbol with a triangle and the letter i displayed on the bottom right hand corner of the task tray. Tapping that icon will open a notification box and display one of the following messages, further explaining why the device was not recognized:
- Damaged USB storage USB storage damaged. Try reformatting. - This will occur when the Hard Disk Drive is not partitioned or formatted at all.
- Blank USB storage or unsupported file system. - This will occur when the Hard Disk Drive is formatted with the NTFS file system.
