Smile may not be detected depending on the detection sensitivity. Adjust the sensitivity by selecting MENU, Camera/Mic, Face icon and Smile Sensitivity on the camcorder.

If you touch a face of a specific person, the camcorder shows a double-lined white frame on it and shows the person. To cancel, touch the X icon at the right side of the screen. Once the target is detected, the frame color for smile detection shot turns orange.

In addition, the Smile Shutter feature does not work in the following situations:

  • When Face Detection is set to Off.
  • When recording movies with frame set to 24p, 25p, 50i/FX, 50p/PS, 60i/FX or 60p/PS.
  • When using Smth Slw REC, Golf Shot or digital zoom settings.
  • While images are being written to the recording media.
