How to de-authorize a Reader Digital Book or computer from your account using the Reader for PC or Reader for Mac software.

Reader™ for PC

De-authorize computer:

  1. Start the Reader for PC software.
  2. Click Edit and then click Preferences from the menu.
  3. In the Preferences window, click the Deauthorize tab.
  4. On the Deauthorize tab, next to Deauthorize this computer, click the Deauthorize button. Image

De-authorize Reader device:

  1. Connect your Reader Digital Book to the computer and start the Reader for PC software.

    NOTES: Additional steps may be required depending on the model of your Reader.

    • PRS-T1: In the USB connected screen, make sure you tap the Data Transfer Mode icon so that your Reader goes into Data Transfer Mode.
    • PRS-T2 and PRS-T3: In the Do you want the computer to recognize this device screen, make sure you tap Yes so that your Reader is recognized correctly.
  2. Once the reader is recognized by the Reader for PC, click Edit and then click Preferences from the menu.
  3. In the Preferences window, click the Deauthorize tab.
  4. On the Deauthorize tab, next to Deauthorize tethered device, click the Deauthorize button. Image

Reader™ for Mac®

De-authorize computer:

  1. Start the Reader for Mac software.
  2. On the menu bar, click Reader for Mac and then click Preferences.
  3. In the Preferences window, click the Deauthorize tab.
  4. On the Deauthorize tab, next to Deauthorize this computer, click the Deauthorize button. Image

De-authorize Reader device:

  1. Connect your Reader Digital Book to the computer and start the Reader for Mac software.

    NOTES:Additional steps may be required depending on the model of your Reader.
