The following settings are required to capture the maximum continuous frames per second:

For 8 frames per second:

  • Drive Mode: Continuous Adv.Hi
  • Shutter speed: Faster than 1/250 seconds
  • Focus: MF (Manual Focus) or Single shot AF (AF-S)

For 12 frames per second:

  • Drive Mode: Continuous Advance Priority AE
  • Shutter speed: Faster than 1/250 seconds

NOTES:

  • In Single-shot AF (AF-S), focus is fixed at the first frame.
  • In MF and AF-S, both ISO sensitivity and aperture can be selected.
  • For moving subjects, Continuous AF (AF-C) is recommended as the focus keeps tracking the subject.
  • In Automatic AF (AF-A), even if the focus is fixed at the first frame, the autofocus switches to AF-C if the subject moves.
  • The number of frames may be reduced depending on the subjects and camera settings as well as image size, ISO setting, and if the Lens Comp:Distortion setting is activated.
