The Tablet connects to Internet but my Google account shows an account sign-in failure during the initial setup process.

This issue can occur if the tablet is connected to the Guest account of a wireless router rather than to the main account. Guest accounts are sometimes built in to and pre-configured with newer routers, and since Guest accounts are often restricted, the Google account data cannot be properly communicated.

Check to make sure the tablet Wi-Fi connection is to the main network account. Confirming that should resolve the issue and allow the Google account activation to proceed normally.
