What is the output format needed to display 4K resolution?

To display 4K resolution, the Blu-ray Disc® player needs to output a 3840 x 2160/24p signal and the source content must be in 4K resolution format.


  • The 4K Output option in the Blu-ray Disc player menu must be set to Auto.
  • For 4K content on a Blu-ray Disc movie, the BD-ROM 24 Output option also should set to On or Auto.
  • For 4K content on a DVD movie, the DVD-ROM 24p Output option also should be set to Auto.
  • The TV to which the Blu-ray Disc player is connected must be able to output 4K resolution as well.
