Follow these steps to troubleshoot why the sound cuts in and out when using headphones.
IMPORTANT: This information applies only to the models listed below this article in the Applicable Products and Categories section.
NOTE: Because each of these steps represents a possible solution to this issue, check the headphone volume status after completing each step.
- Unplug the headphones and then plug them back in, ensuring that the plug is completely inserted into the headphone jack.
- Make sure the volume level is adjusted high enough to be heard easily.
- Use the headphones on a different device, such as a computer or MP3 player to make sure they work properly, or try using a different set of headphones with the tablet.
NOTE: If a different set of headphones work on the tablet, or if the existing headphones do not work on a different device, the problem is with the headphones and not the tablet.
- Perform a reset procedure:
IMPORTANT: If the soft reset procedure does not resolve the issue, you can try to perform an External Data Reset which will erase all personal information and restore the unit to factory conditions. Before doing so, you should back up your data files from the tablet to an SD card .
The troubleshooting steps listed above should resolve your issue. If you have completed all of the steps and the issue is not resolved, service may be required.
