Is there a way to see the resolution and video format of a signal being sent to the TV?

  1. Turn on the TV.
  2. Turn on the source device - your cable or satellite box, Digital Video Recorder (DVR), Blu-ray Disc® (BD) player, or other video playback device connected to the TV.
  3. Select the channel or begin playing the content you want to watch.
  4. On the remote control supplied with the TV, press the DISPLAY button.

    IMPORTANT: If playing a movie from a DVD or BD player, wait until the movie starts playing before pressing the DISPLAY button. The movie menu or credits may be at a lower resolution than the actual movie.

The resolution and video format of the signal should display at the top of the TV screen.

NOTE: Not all TVs can display the resolution and video format information. If your TV does not display the information after following the steps above, you may be able to find out from the menu of your source device. If necessary, refer to the instruction manual supplied with the source device for additional information.
