Follow these steps to troubleshoot the touchpad.
NOTE: If model-specific information is needed for any of these steps, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the product. Manuals are posted on your model support page.
- Shutdown the computer.
- Make sure there is no external serial, USB or IBM® PS/2® mouse connected to the system.
- Turn on the computer.
- If possible, connect a serial or PS/2 mouse to the notebook. If that mouse works, disconnect it and try the touchpad again.
- Reinstall the touchpad drivers from the Application Recovery CD.
- Reset the BIOS defaults.
If the issue is still unresolved, service may be required.
