How to perform a Full Restore with Format.

Follow this procedure to perform a Full Restore with Format:

WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. All software applications, configurations, and data added to the restored drives will be erased.

IMPORTANT: For desktop computers which shipped with two drives, the System Recovery CD must be placed in the uppermost drive to perform a recovery.

  1. Insert the System Recovery CD #1 into the CD/DVD drive.
  2. Restart the computer.
  3. In the System Recovery CD window, press the O key to select OK.

    IMPORTANT: If a warning appears that the (D:)drive is not found, additional input is required.

  4. In the MAIN MENU window, press the 2 key to select Full Restore with Format Drive (C:) and (D:).
  5. In the System Recovery CD window, press the Y key to select Yes to initiate Full Restore with Format.
  6. In the All data will be removed from the hard drive window, press Y to select Yes to continue.
  7. When prompted to insert CD #2, remove System Recovery CD #1.
  8. Insert System Recovery CD #2 into the CD/DVD drive.
  9. Press the Enter key to continue.
  10. When prompted to insert CD #1, remove System Recovery CD #2.
  11. Insert System Recovery CD #1 into the CD/DVD drive.
  12. Press the Enter key to continue.
  13. In the System Recovery complete window, remove System Recovery CD #1.
  14. Press the Enter key to restart.
  15. New hardware will be detected and installed on the system. When prompted for drivers, insert the Driver Recovery CD to complete the driver installation.
  16. In the Restart the Computer window, click Yes to restart the computer.

    NOTE: The procedure to install drivers may repeat a second time.

  17. Follow the Installation Setup Wizard to complete the setup process.
  18. In the Sony Application Recovery Program window, remove the Driver Recovery CD.
  19. Insert the Application Recovery CD into the CD/DVD drive.
  20. Click OK. The recovery program will start and install several modules and applications.
  21. In the Please insert your Corel WordPerfect CD window, remove the Application Recovery CD.
  22. Insert the Corel® WordPerfect® CD into the CD/DVD drive.
  23. Click the OK button.
  24. In the WordPerfect CD-ROM window, close the application and allow the Sony Application Recovery Program to complete.
  25. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  26. In the Sony Application Recovery Program window, remove the Corel WordPerfect CD.
  27. Click OK to restart the computer.
  28. Download and install all available driver and software updates for this model. Downloads are posted on your model support page.
