How to run the Wireless Network Settings application.

IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check the Applicable Products and Categories section of this article before starting these steps.

  1. Click the Start button, point to All Programs, point to ORiNOCO and click Wireless Network Settings.
  2. In the Add/Edit Configuration Profile window, click the Add button.
  3. In the Edit Configuration window, under Profile Name, type the desired name for this connection.
  4. Under Network Type, click the down arrow and click to select the desired type of network connection.

    NOTE: Access Point, Residential Gateway and Peer-To-Peer are the three choices available.

  5. Click the Next button.
  6. Under Network Name, type the name of the network that is being connected to.

    NOTE: If Peer-To-Peer was selected, under Channel Number, using the down arrow, click to select the desired channel.

  7. Click the Next button.
  8. Under Set Security, click to select or deselect the desired security settings.

    NOTE: Based on the selection, a security key may need to be entered. This key will be different based on the network being connected to.

  9. Click the Next button.
  10. Under TCP/IP Behavior, click to select or deselect Renew IP Address when selecting this profile.

    NOTE: This setting will be different based on the number of different profiles setup on the computer, and the network it is connecting to.

  11. Click the Finish button.
  12. In the Add/Edit Configuration Profile window, click the OK button to close the application.
