How to restore data using the SonicStage® Backup Tool software.

WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. When restoring data, the target folder's existing data will be deleted. If the restore process fails or you decide to cancel it, all data will be lost.

WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. While restoring data, your computer cannot go into hibernation or on standby. Doing so may cause data loss, and the restore process may not function properly.

WARNING: If the restore process is stopped or interrupted you will not be able to use your music in SonicStage® How to restore data using the SonicStage® Backup Tool software.. If this occurs, it will be necessary to start the restore process again.

IMPORTANT:

  • Establish an Internet connection before beginning this procedure.
  • WMA format files downloaded from a music service site via the Internet or converted to OpenMG™ format can be backed up and restored by the SonicStage Backup Tool, but the copyright-protection data that is attached to the files and stored on your computer will not be backed up so it cannot be restored. Re-obtain the copyright-protection data by downloading it from the music service site via the Internet after performing a system recovery or restoring the data to another computer.

NOTES:

  • When restoring data using removable media, ensure the backup disc is inserted into the drive.
  • If the backup is contained on multiple discs, the discs must be inserted in the same order used during the backup.
  • To restore the content, you must have all the discs. If you only have some of the content, you cannot perform a restore.
  1. Start the SonicStage Backup Tool.

    NOTE: The SonicStage Backup Tool is located in the SonicStage folder on your Programs menu.

  2. In the SonicStage Backup Tool, click to select the Restore my saved data to my computer option.
  3. Click the Next(N)< button.
  4. In the Step 1. Start Restore window, click the Next(N)< button.
  5. In the Step 2. Specify Backup Data window, browse to the location of the backup folder.
  6. Click the Next(N)< button.
  7. In the Step 3. Confirm Backup Data window, click the Next(N)< button.
  8. In the Step 4. Specify the location to restore window, click the Next(N)< button.
  9. In the Step 5. Verification window, click the Next(N)< button.
  10. In the Step 6. Run Restore window, click the Start(S) button.
  11. In the Saved data is restored window, click the Close button.
