How to troubleshoot startup issues on the computer.

Follow these steps to troubleshoot startup issues on the computer.

  1. Remove all disks from the floppy and CD/DVD drives.
  2. Remove the battery from the notebook.
  3. Connect the AC power adapter.
  4. Attempt to turn on the computer.
  5. Disable Network Boot  in the BIOS screen.
  6. Restart the computer in Safe Mode.
  7. Remove any conflicting devices from the Device Manager .
  8. Disconnect or uninstall all recently installed hardware, including keyboards.

    NOTE: If able to startup after disconnecting all hardware devices, determine the specific item  causing the problem.

  9. Restore the Last Known Good Configuration .
  10. Reset the BIOS  defaults.
  11. Restart the computer in Safe Mode.
  12. Use System Restore  to return the computer to a working configuration.

The troubleshooting steps listed above should resolve your issue. If you have completed all of the steps and the issue is not resolved, service may be required.
