A noise or echo may be heard when playing back recorded files on the digital voice recorder for the following reasons:
- An object, such as your finger, may have accidentally rubbed or scratched the recorder during recording.
- The recorder is near an electrical devices such as fluorescent lamps or mobile phones.
- If you are using earphones/headphones for playback, the earphone/headphones jack or the Headphones port on the recorder may be dirty or damaged.
- If an external microphone was used, the jack of the microphone or the MIC in port on the recorder may be dirty or damaged.
Check on the following to avoid or resolve the issue.
- If the unit uses dry batteries, make sure to use fresh batteries before recording.
- Make sure that the recorder is placed away from electrical devices such as fluorescent lamps, mobile phones and anything alike during recording and playback.
- If you are using an external microphone for recording, make sure that the microphone jack or the MIC in port on the recorder is free from any damage or dirt before recording.
- If you are using earphones or headphones during playback, make sure that the earphone Headphones port on the recorder is free from damage or dirt.
- Reset all menu settings of the recorder.
- For model-specific instructions on how to reset all menu settings of the recorder, check the instruction guide that came with the unit. Manuals are posted on your model support page.
- If the issue is still unresolved, service will be required.
