NOTE: A CANNOT RECORD error may appear when trying to record, or a NO FILE or FILE ERROR message may appear when trying to play back an image on a memory card.
Check the following to troubleshoot this problem:
Have you modified the image data with the computer (by using editing software)?
The image may not be played back properly if it is modified and saved using an editing software. Please do not modify the image if you want to play it back on the camera or camcorder. If you try to play back the image modified with the computer, "File error" message may appear on the screen.
Have you changed the file name?
The file name format of the still image is DSC0xxxx.JPG (xxxx stands for any number within the range from 0001 to 9999). If the file name does not meet this format, the image file cannot be played back. Name the image file to meet the above format to play it back on the camera or camcorder.
Have you changed the folder to save the image?
Normally, image files are saved in the 100MSDCF or 101MSDCF folder under the DCIM folder. If you save the image file in a different folder, the image cannot be played back on the camera or camcorder. Save the image file in the 100MSDCF or 101MSDCF folder under the DCIM folder to play it back on the screen.
NOTE: The numerical part of the folder name (100 and 101) can be changed to any range within 100-999.
If all the data on the memory card is not needed, you can format the memory card on the camera or camcorder and use it again. If you format it with the computer, you may not be able to use it properly; only format the memory card with the camera or camcorder.
