How to add the date and time to an image in Microsoft® Paint software.

Applicable Products and Categories of This Article

  1. On the Windows 7 taskbar, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, and click Paint.
  2. In the Paint window, on the menu bar, click File, then click Open.
  3. Navigate to the location where the image is saved on the computer.
  4. Click to select the image and click Open.
  5. On the Tool Bar, click Text.
  6. Use your mouse cursor to select the area to add the date and/or time.
  7. While holding the left mouse button, drag the mouse cursor to select the desired area for the date and/or time.
  8. Click Transparent.
  9. Using the keyboard, enter the desired date and/or time to the image.

    NOTE: To change the font of the added text, highlight the text and select the desired font and font size from the Text Toolbar [FIG. 1]. To change the color of the added text, highlight the text and select the desired color from the Color Box [FIG. 1].

  10. Click File, then click Save to save the image.
