Wireless flash photography cannot be performed with Program Flashes 5400HS, 5400Xi, or 3500Xi from Konica Minolta. The test flash used to verify communication will work, but the flash will not work during actual shooting.
Depending on your camera, there are alternatives for wireless flash photography. For the DSLR-A850 and DSLR-A900 that do not have a built-in flash, the HVL-F58AM or HVL-F20AM (each sold separately) can be used as a wireless trigger for remote flashes. All other α (alpha) Digital SLR cameras use the built-in flash to wirelessly trigger remote flashes.
IMPORTANT: The HVL-F58AM and HVL-F20AM cannot be used as a trigger on cameras with a built-in flash, except for the DSLR-A700.
The following flashes can be used as slave units and triggered remotely:
- Sony HVL-F58AM
- Sony HVL-F56AM
- Sony HVL-F42AM
- Sony HVL-F36AM
- Konica Minolta 5600HS(D)
- Konica Minolta 3600HS(D)
