Can I capture still images while recording video with my DVD camcorder?

Applicable Products and Categories of This Article

The camcorder does not have the capability of capturing still images from video being played back in the camcorder.

As a work-around, you may be able to capture a still image from the video after converting the video into MPEG2 format on a computer. Refer to the help files on your video-editing software for more information.

If your camcorder has the Dual Rec feature, you can record a limited number of high-resolution still images while recording video. To capture a still image while recording video with a DVD camcorder using the Dual Rec feature, press the PHOTO button fully while recording video. The recorded images will be written to the selected destination media after you stop recording video.

NOTE: Refer to the operating instructions included with your DVD camcorder for model-specific information on the features and capabilities of your camcorder. Manuals are posted on your model support page.
