How to convert AVCHD video to the MPEG-2 format and create a DVD using the Picture Motion Browser software.

Applicable Products and Categories of This Article

  1. Start the Picture Motion Browser software.
  2. In the software, browse to the folder that contains the AVCHD video files.
  3. Press and hold the Ctrl key on the keyboard.
  4. While holding the Ctrl key, click to select which AVCHD video files you want to convert to the MPEG-2 format.
  5. On the menu bar, click Manipulate .
  6. In the drop-down menu, click to select Convert to MPEG-2 and Save...
  7. In the Convert to MPEG-2 and Save window, click the Browse button to select the folder to which you want to save the converted images.
  8. Click the Start button.

    NOTE: A dialog box labeled Converting will be displayed during the conversion process.

  9. In the Conversion Results window that appears after the conversion is complete, click the OK button.

    IMPORTANT: Your computer must have a DVD burner installed to complete the rest of this procedure.

  10. Insert a blank, recordable DVD into the DVD burning drive of your computer.

    IMPORTANT: The recordable DVD should be a standard, 12cm DVD-R or DVD-RW and must be blank.

  11. Browse to the folder where you saved the MPEG-2 video files.
  12. Press and hold the Ctrl key on the keyboard.
  13. While holding the Ctrl key, click to select which video files you want to use for DVD creation.
  14. On the menu bar, click Manipulate .
  15. In the drop-down menu, click to select DVD Creation .
  16. In the DVD Creation window, click the Next button.
  17. In the Design column, click to select the desired background for the menu screen of your DVD.
  18. Click the Start button.

    NOTE: A Creating Disc dialog box will appear. When the process is finished a DVD Creation Complete dialog box will appear.

  19. In the DVD Creation Complete dialog box, click the Close button.
  20. Remove the newly-created DVD from the DVD burner.
