Unable to connect to the Internet when using certain wired or wireless routers.

When using certain wired or wireless routers or non-Microsoft DHCP servers, the computer may connect to the router but the Internet connection may fail. Use the following procedure to resolve the issue.

NOTE: Because each of these steps represents a possible solution to this issue, check the Internet connection status after completing each step.

  1. Disable the DHCP BROADCAST flag.
  2. Update the firmware on the router per the manufacturer's instructions.
