What is the difference between the Creative Style and Scene Selection functions?

Applicable Products and Categories of This Article

The difference between these functions are as follows:

  • Creative Style: This function allows you to control image production according to scenes or styles you want to reproduce in the image and is independent of aperture and shutter speed control. You can select pre-programmed image styles according to not only scenes, but also artistic intentions. In addition, you can adjust the parameters to obtain the desired finish for your images.
  • Scene Selection: This function not only processes the images, but also automatically controls the aperture, shutter speed, and other settings to match the selected scene mode. To shoot beautiful pictures quickly, all you need to do is select an appropriate scene mode and the rest is done by the camera.

NOTE: The Creative Style function cannot be used when the Scene Selection function is used.
