I have forgotten the pattern or password needed to unlock my Walkman.

To unlock the Walkman® player, check the solution below.

  • Factory reset for the NW-ZZX1 Walkman player

    To perform the factory reset, follow the steps below.

    1. Press and hold down the POWER button and the FF button until the Walkman logo is displayed.

      NOTE:The menu of the factory initialization is displayed on the display of the Walkman player.

    2. Using the VOLUME +/- button and POWER button, select wipe data/factory reset showing on the display of the Walkman player.
    3. To delete all user data, select Yes. Press the VOLUME +/- button and POWER button to select Yes.

      NOTE: The Walkman player starts to perform a factory initialization.

    4. Using the VOLUME +/- button and POWER button, select reboot system now.

      NOTES:

      • The Walkman player should restart automatically.
      • The factory reset will erase applications and the user date except for transferred contents such as photos movies, etc.
  • Factory reset for a NW-ZX2 Walkman player

    To perform the factory reset, follow the steps below.

    1. Confirm proof of purchase.
    2. Perform a factory reset on the Hi-Res Walkman player, which will unlock the device.

      WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. Performing a factory reset will delete downloaded applications and User data such as Google account information. However, transferred content such as photos and movies will not be deleted.

      Press and hold the power buttonPower button and Next button FF button simultaneously for eight seconds.
