How to swap the left and right channel audio on an MP4 file using Vegas Pro.

  1. Turn on your computer.
  2. Start the Vegas® Pro software.
  3. Place the MP4 video clip onto the Vegas Pro timeline.
    1. If the video has not yet been imported from the camcorder to the computer:
      1. Connect the camcorder to the computer with the supplied USB cable.
      2. Turn on the camcorder.
      3. On the computer, in the My Computer window, click to select Removable Disk.
      4. In the Removable Disk window, locate the MP4 file.

        NOTE: The MP4 file is located in the \M4ROOT\Clip folder.

      5. Drag and drop the MP4 file onto the Vegas Pro timeline.
    2. If the video has already been imported to a computer using PlayMemories Home™ software:
      1. Open PlayMemories Home.
      2. In the PlayMemories Home window, locate the MP4 file.
      3. Drag and drop the MP4 thumbnail from PlayMemories Home onto the Vegas Pro timeline.
  4. In the Do you want to set your project video settings to match this media? window, click the Yes button.

    NOTE:
    You do not need to check Always base project video settings on first-added video.

  5. In the Vegas Pro timeline, click to select only the audio track of the video file.

  6. Right-click the audio track, point to Channels and then select Swap.

    NOTE: The left and right audio channels are swapped.

  7. Save the file.
