What is the function of the AF Range Control?

This function restricts the autofocus range, and adjusts the focus within the range.
The focus will not be influenced by subjects in front or behind the target subject, making it easy to adjust focus on the target subject.


  • Press the button to which you have assigned the AF Range Control function, and set the maximum shooting distance using the front dial. Set the minimum shooting distance using the rear dial of the camera.
  • The AF Range Control function is assigned to the C (Custom) button in the default setting.
  • When the subject is within the range set, the focus area will be displayed in yellow.
