The Walkman player does not start up or play back properly.

The Walkman® player may not start up or play back properly if it does not have the latest firmware version installed. To check the version of the firmware installed in the Walkman player, follow the steps below.

  1. Connect the Walkman player to a computer using the supplied USB cradle.
  2. On the computer, navigate to the WALKMAN folder.
  3. Locate and open the information.txt file.

    NOTE: The Walkman model name, memory capacity, and firmware version will be displayed.

If the firmware version is less than version 1.01, update the Walkman player. Downloads are posted on your model support page.
