How to Burn Upgrade Files to a CD
Use a brand new CD-R disc to burn the firmware upgrade. The player may not be able to correctly read a dirty or scratched disc. Do not use a CD-RW disc.
For Microsoft® Windows® Operating Systems
- Double-click the firmware upgrade .ZIP file and extract the firmware files to a directory.
- Insert a new CD-R disc into the CD-R/DVD-R drive of the computer.
- These next steps vary by operating system version.
- Windows 7, 8/8.1, and 10:

- When the disc loads and the AutoPlay pop-up window opens, click to select Burn files to disc.
- At the Burn a Disc window, click to select With a CD/DVD player and then click Next.
- Windows Vista®:

- When the disc loads and the AutoPlay pop-up window opens, click to select Burn files to disc.
- At the Burn a Disc window, click Show formatting options, click to select Mastered - Readable on all computers...., and then click Next.
- Windows XP: When the disc loads and the CD Drive pop up window opens, click to select Open writable CD folder using Windows Explorer.
- Drag the extracted files and drop them in the CD/DVD drive window that opened in the previous step.
- Right-click the CD/DVD drive window and then click Burn to disc or Write these files to CD.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the disc burning process.
Note: The process may take several minutes to complete. The CD/DVD drive should open automatically when the process is complete.
