How to Burn Upgrade Files to a CD

Use a brand new CD-R disc to burn the firmware upgrade. The player may not be able to correctly read a dirty or scratched disc. Do not use a CD-RW disc.

For Microsoft® Windows® Operating Systems

  1. Double-click the firmware upgrade .ZIP file and extract the firmware files to a directory.
  2. Insert a new CD-R disc into the CD-R/DVD-R drive of the computer.
  3. These next steps vary by operating system version.
    • Windows 7, 8/8.1, and 10:
      1. When the disc loads and the AutoPlay pop-up window opens, click to select Burn files to disc.
      2. At the Burn a Disc window, click to select With a CD/DVD player and then click Next.
    • Windows Vista®:
      1. When the disc loads and the AutoPlay pop-up window opens, click to select Burn files to disc.
      2. At the Burn a Disc window, click Show formatting options, click to select Mastered - Readable on all computers...., and then click Next.
    • Windows XP: When the disc loads and the CD Drive pop up window opens, click to select Open writable CD folder using Windows Explorer.
  4. Drag the extracted files and drop them in the CD/DVD drive window that opened in the previous step.
  5. Right-click the CD/DVD drive window and then click Burn to disc or Write these files to CD.
  6. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the disc burning process.
Note: The process may take several minutes to complete. The CD/DVD drive should open automatically when the process is complete.
