The Built-In Flash Strobes Even When There Is Sufficient Lighting
IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.
Cause
The flash on your camera automatically strobes even if there is enough light in the following situations:
- When the flash setting is set to ON
- When the flash setting is set to AUTO and there is a bright light source behind the subject
Solution
If you don't want to use the flash, set the flash setting to OFF. Depending on your camera, there may be a flash button with an icon that looks like a lightning bolt, that you can press to change the flash setting. For other cameras, you can change the flash settings through the camera's menu or through the control dial.
