The camera LCD doesn't display the image when connected to a monitor via HDMI

    Depending on the settings for proxy movie recording, the image may not appear on the external monitor or on the camera's monitor if you record XAVC S 4K movies on a memory card inserted in the camera. Set Proxy Recording to the appropriate parameter according to usage.

    Check the following combination of settings when you record:

    File Format is set to XAVC S HD or AVCHD, and HDMI Info. Display is set to On.

    File Format is set to XAVC S HD or AVCHD, and HDMI Info. Display is set to Off.

    File Format is set to XAVC S 4K, and the storage is a memory card inserted in the camera.

    File Format is set to XAVC S 4K and 4K Output Sel is set to HDMI Only.

    If your camera is still connected to the external monitor with an HDMI cable during playback, the images will appear on the external monitor regardless of the HDMI Info. Display setting and whether the File Format is set to 4K or HD. The camera screen display is off.
