Import Pictures and Videos Wirelessly to a Mac Computer

You can import pictures and videos wirelessly to your Apple® Macintosh® computer through the Wireless Auto Import app. Unfortunately, the Wireless Auto Import download service has ended. However, functions of this application are now included in the latest version of the PlayMemories Home™ software.

Follow these steps to import your pictures wirelessly through the Wireless Auto Import function:

1. Set your computer as the device that import files from your camera wirelessly.

   1. Make sure that a memory card is inserted in the camera.
   2. Power on the camera.
   3. On the camera, set the USB connection mode of the camera to MTP or PTP.
   4. Connect the camera and the computer.
   5. On your computer, go to Finder and select Applications.
   6. Select PlayMemories Home.
   7. Click on the PlayMemories Home tab.

      

   8. Select Preferences.

      

   9. On the Settings window that will appear, select Wireless Auto Import.

      

   10. In the Wireless Auto Import window, select Set.
   11. In the This computer will be set as the wireless import device for your camera window, choose OK.
   12. Disconnect the USB cable on the camera and computer.

2. Start the transfer process.

   1. On the camera, select Menu.
   2. Select Setup.
   3. Select Access Point Setting.
   4. Select the wireless access point.
   5. Press the Playback button on the camera
   6. Press the Menu button.
   7. Select Send to Computer.
   8. Follow the instruction to save the images to the computer.
