Benefits and improvements

This program updates the PEGA-CC5 Car Cradle software for the PEG-NX73V, PEG-NX80V and PEG-TG50 CLIÉ® handheld models and resolves the following issues:
    Music:
    • An error occurs when unsupported ATRAC3plus™ files are stored in Memory Stick media.
    • Selecting ATRAC3 Album format and then switching to MP3 Album format does not refresh the MP3 song list accordingly.
    • Music track information is not displayed after playing Voice Rec data in "off car cradle" mode.
    • Play mode is ignored when performing AMS+/-.
    Car Launcher:
    • CC5 related files remain in the handheld after uninstall.
    Other:
    • Voice Animation remains in default settings of the installed "Mail" & "Schedule" applications, even though the setting is off.
    • An error occurs when attaching the handheld to the CC5 when battery level is less than 10% and the message "Stopping Bluetooth™" appears.

Before You Start


Important Notes
  • This update application requires that you have approximately 1MB of available memory in your CLIÉ handheld. Before installing this application, confirm that there is enough memory available.

    To check the available memory in your CLIÉ handheld:

    1. Tap the "Home" icon.
    2. Tap the "Menu" icon and select "App".
    3. Tap "Info..." from the App drop-down list.
      All internal data information is displayed.
    4. Tap "Size" at the bottom of the screen.
    5. Check the "Free Space:..." listed.
    6. Tap the "Done" button to exit.


  • During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
  • Make sure that Palm Desktop for CLIÉ™ handheld software is installed on your PC from the installation CD-ROM supplied with your CLIÉ™ handheld and that the PC is configured to be able to perform a HotSync® operation.
  • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
  • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

Download & Install


Download and Installation Instructions
  1. Download the CCINSTALLERUPDATE.PRC file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
  2. On the computer, start the Palm Desktop for CLIÉ™ software.
  3. Click the "Install" icon.
  4. Select the appropriate user name from the user list.
  5. Click "Add."
  6. Navigate to the directory where the CCINSTALLERUPDATE.PRC file was downloaded.
  7. Select the application file "CCINSTALLERUPDATE.PRC" and click "Open."
  8. Click "Done."
  9. Place your CLIÉ handheld™ on the cradle, and perform a HotSync® operation. The HotSync® operation will be performed and the required update will be installed.
  10. On the CLIÉ handheld™, tap "Car Update" in CLIÉ Launcher® view.
  11. Tap the reset button when prompted.
    After the Reset, the "Car Setting" icon is available in CLIÉ Launcher view.
    NOTE: The "Car Setting" application requires CLIÉ Car Cradle software.
Confirm a Successful Installation
  1. Depending on the handheld model, tap or press the "Home" icon on the CLIÉ™ handheld.
  2. Tap Menu, Application, and then Info to view the internal data information.
  3. Tap the "Menu" icon and select Options.
  4. Scroll down the list and confirm that the following versions are displayed:

    Car Setting v.1.0.1
    CarCradleLibrary v.1.0.1
    Music v.1.0.1
  5. Tap the "OK" button to exit.
NOTE: If the version numbers do not appear as listed above, please download and install the update again.
