Important Notes

  • If there is a previous version of the Synaptics HID TouchPad software installed, it should be uninstalled by using the Control Panel before installing this update.
  • During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
  • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
  • It is highly recommended that you print out these instructions for use as a reference during the installation process.

Download and Installation Instructions

  1. To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
  2. Download the SPDTPD-00307285-0102.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
  3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SPDTPD-00307285-0102.EXE file to begin the installation.
  4. At the "User Account Control" screen, click "Yes".
  5. If the "Select Language" screen appears, select the language you wish to use, and then click "OK".
  6. At the "Select Country / Region" screen, select the country or region for this installation, and then click "Next".
  7. At the "Synaptics HID TouchPad Ver. 17.0.8.5" screen, click "Next".
  8. Read the License Agreement and if you agree, click "I Agree" to continue the installation.
  9. At the "Finish" screen, click "Finish".
  10. Completely shutdown the computer.
  11. Wait for 60 seconds, then turn the computer back on.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the Synaptics HID TouchPad is complete.
