This utility updates the system software to version 1.301 and provides the following changes and benefits:
- Adds compatibility with the Sony common protocol
- The Remote Start function is no longer available as part of Network Management (VPL-HW65ES)Note: If you previously used the Remote Start mode, please turn on Network Management after performing the firmware update. With Network Management on, the power consumption increases.
- Adds minor bug fixes

Download & Install
Download and Transfer the Update Folder to Your USB Storage Device
- Download the sony_pjupdate_2015_1301_pjf_auth.zip file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference) on your computer.
- Extract the update folder from the sony_pjupdate_2015_1301_pjf_auth.zip file.
- Connect a USB storage device to your computer.
- Requirements for the USB device used for the update:
- USB version 2.0 or higher
- Minimum 1GB
- Formatted to FAT32 file system
- No other files or folders on the device
- Requirements for the USB device used for the update:
- Open the extracted folder and transfer the sony_dtv0FA30A07A0A7_00002900 update folder to the root directory of your USB storage device. Note: The root directory is the top directory in a file system.
IMPORTANT: Do not change the name of the folder or copy to any other folder on the USB device. This update will not install successfully if the name of the folder is modified or if the folder is not copied to the root directory of the USB device.
- For Microsoft® Windows® operating system: Right-click the sony_dtv0FA30A07A0A7_00002900 folder and, from the menu, click Send To..., and then click the drive (EX: Removable Disk E:) that represents your USB device. The update folder will be copied onto your USB storage device.
- For Apple® Mac OS® X operating system: Drag and drop the sony_dtv0FA30A07A0A7_00002900 folder to the root folder of the USB storage device.
- For Microsoft® Windows® operating system:
- Remove the USB device from your computer.

Update the System Software
CAUTION: During the update process, do not remove the USB device or turn off the projector.
- Power off the projector.
- Make sure no other USB device is connected to the projector before starting the update.
- Insert the USB storage device containing the update folder into USB port of the projector.
- Power on the projector. The update process starts automatically.
- When the update is finished, the projector will power off.
- Turn on the projector to complete the update process Note: If the version number is 1.301, the firmware update was successful.
