The Update via Internet Method is straightforward and the easiest way to update your player. To use this method, your Blu-ray Disc player must be connected to a TV and the internet (512Kbps or faster). If you have a slower connection speed, use the USB Storage Device (USB) Update Method instead.
Q: One of these error messages appears on the TV:
- Connection status cannot be confirmed
- This device is not connected to network
- Update failed
Make sure your internet connection and network settings are correct.
- For a wired connection: Check that the LAN (Ethernet) cable between the LAN (100) terminal on the player and your internet router or modem is securely connected.
- For a wireless connection: Check that the wireless router is powered on and connected to the internet.
- Check the Blu-ray Disc player network settings and confirm it has its own IP address.
Note: If you use a proxy server, enter the IP address of the proxy server you use, instead of the proxy host name, in the Proxy Server input field.
- Confirm both the Physical Connection and Internet Access indicate OK in Network Settings > Network Connection Status.
- Try to perform the Update via Internet Method again.
Q: The power was shut down during the update process.
Turn on the Blu-ray Disc player and try the update process again.
Q: The firmware update process is not finished after running for more than 30 minutes.
This can occur due to a slow network speed (less than 512Kbps). Cancel the process and try the Update via Internet Method again. If the process still doesn't complete, cancel it and then use the USB Storage Device method instead.
Q: The firmware update continues to fail after multiple tries.
Try using the USB Storage Device method instead.
Contact our Support team if you need assistance with the upgrade.
With this method, you use a PC to download the firmware upgrade to USB storage device, and then install it from the USB storage device onto your Blu-ray Disc player. You'll need a USB storage device with 150MB space available, and your Blu-ray Disc player has to be connected to a TV.

Notes:
- The root directory is the drive itself. Just move a file directly to the drive and don't specify a folder.
- The update won't perform if the UPDATE folder isn't copied to the root directory of the USB device or if the name of the folder is modified.
- Remove the USB device from your computer.
- Continue to the next section.
