Unable to connect to the Internet when using certain wired or wireless routers.
When using certain wired or wireless routers or non-Microsoft DHCP servers, the computer may connect to the router but the Internet connection may fail. Use the following procedure to resolve the issue.
NOTE: Because each of these steps represents a possible solution to this issue, check the Internet connection status after completing each step.
- Disable the DHCP BROADCAST flag.
- Update the firmware on the router per the manufacturer's instructions.
