How to setup and use the Weather application.
The Weather application is a Microsoft® application that allows you to see detailed information about the weather for your location. Follow these steps to use the Weather application.
IMPORTANT: The Weather application is unique to the new Windows User Interface (UI) in the Windows 8 and 8.1 operating systems, and cannot be found and will not work with any of the previous Windows operating systems (Windows 7, Vista, XP etc.).
- Point to (but do not click) the lower-right or top-right corner of the screen, and then click to select the Search charm.
NOTE: The Windows Logo + Q key combination will also take you to the Search screen.
- In the Search screen, in the Search field type Weather, and then click the Weather icon.
NOTE: If a Can Weather use your location prompt appears, click Allow.
- The Weather application will open and display the weather for your current location, as well as the hourly forecast and the weather forecasted for the week.
NOTE: Right click in the center of the Weather screen to view the weather from other locations, the World weather, to change the temperature display from Fahrenheit to Celsius, or to refresh the weather display.
