This information is provided for non Android TV™ models where the Wi-Fi® signal on your LCD TV may drop or intermittently disconnect. This may occur for a variety of reasons, use the information below to help resolve this issue.
Signal strength and interference
When using Wi-Fi, the distance of the router to your device is another factor to consider. To maximize your viewing experience when streaming video or listening from an audio app, make sure that the router is placed near your device. It's recommended that the TV and router are at least 1 meter (3 feet) apart, but no more than 25 feet away from each other. If possible, install both devices in a location without walls in between them. Other wireless devices such Bluetooth® speakers, wireless phones, microwave ovens, and devices sending radio frequency may also cause poor signal strength.

- Make sure the TV and router are at least 1 meter (3 feet) apart, but no more than 25 feet away from each other to improved signal strength.
- Interference from other wireless devices
- If multiple wireless devices or electric equipment, such as microwave ovens, are used at home, it may affect the Wi-Fi performance of your TV. Power off these devices when not in use, or keep them away from your TV.
- Electromagnetic interference may also occur depending on the location of the TV. If possible, change its location and check if the performance improves.

- Microwave ovens
- Cordless phones
- Garage door openers
- Wireless toys
- Locations near large transmission lines
- Locations that generate static electricity
- Locations where the walls, decks, or doors have metal surfaces
- If other devices are downloading large-sized files, such as videos, the network speed may slow down, wait until this activity completes and try again.
- Check the frequency band setting of your router (for dual band routers).
Some routers support multiple frequencies (ex: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz), if your router supports this feature, try a different frequency.
- Power reset your TV and your router.
Power reset your modem/router
A connection issue with your modem/router is often resolved after performing a power reset. If you have a separate modem and router, power reset both devices.
- Unplug the power to your modem/router and wait about 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power to your modem/router and make sure it's turned on.
- Wait until the device is finished making it's connection to the internet and your network.
Power reset your TV
Follow these steps to power reset your TV.
- Turn off the TV.
IMPORTANT: For a projection TV that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after turning off the TV to allow the lamp to cool before continuing.
- Unplug the TV power cord from the electrical outlet.
- Let the television remain without power for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.
- Turn on the TV.
