Accessibility for Xperia Smartphone

    The Xperia® smartphones support the following accessibility features and are available on Xperia smartphones with Android™ 11 and Android 12.

    Notes:

    • These features are available on Xperia smartphones with Android 11 or later installed. In addition, some features will be available from Android 12 or later (*1) or Android 13 or later (*2).
    • You can access them from SettingsAccessibility (exclude some features).
    • Available features might be different depending on the product.
    • Depending on the product and Android OS version, some features might require app installation from Google Play™.

    Vision

    TalkBackYou can use your device without looking at the screen by speaking feedback.
    Select to SpeakYou can tap specific items on your screen to hear them read aloud.
    Font sizeYou can make the text on the screen smaller or larger.
    Display sizeYou can make the items on your screen smaller or larger.
    Dark themeYou can change your display to a dark background.
    Bold textYou can use bold font to improve visibility. (Android 12 or later) (*1)
    Extra dimYou can dim your screen beyond your phone's minimum brightness, making reading more comfortable. (Android 12 or later) (*1)
    MagnificationYou can zoom or magnify to see your device's screen better.
    Color correctionYou can adjust how colors display on your device.
    Color inversionYou can change your display to a dark background.
    Large mouse cursorYou can make the mouse pointer larger.
    Remove animationsYou can remove animation partly while operating your device.
    High-contrast textYou can make the text easier to read on your device.
    Auto descriptionHear a description of what's happening on screen in supported movies and shows. (*2)

     

    Hearing

    Mono audioYou can integrate audio channels during playback.
    Audio balanceYou can adjust the left and right audio balance.
    Caption preferencesYou can choose caption preferences for your device.
    Live TranscribeYou can participate in conversations around you by showing speech as text on your screen.
    Sound NotificationsYour phone will always check for sounds you want to be notified of.

     

    Action

    Switch accessYou can interact with your device using one or more switches.
    Accessibility MenuYou can control your device from a large on-screen menu.
