Unable to output Dolby Digital® 5.1 surround sound technology from the computer.
Follow the below steps to enable or utilize Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound technology:
- To output sound using the Dolby Digital 5.1 technology, the computer must be equipped with the appropriate hardware and software necessary to produce sound using the Dolby Digital 5.1 technology.
- Computers that are equipped with this hardware will say Optical/Digital by the headphone jack, or will have an SPDIF output device in sound properties.
- Ensure the option to enable Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound technology through the SPDIF or optical interface is selected in the audio options of the decoding software.
NOTE: In order to utilize this feature a Male Mono Miniplug to Mono RCA, or a male Optical cable will be required. This must then be connected to the Digital / Coaxial input of the home theater system or audio amplifier.
